HI IREN, (MUSIC IN PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC AND HOSPICE SETTINGS)

I’m a retired clinical social worker who has utilized various styles and traditions of music in psychotherapeutic and hospice settings. I live in Washington state about 30 miles south of Seattle.

My wife and I were in Hungary recently on vacation and discovered your beautiful and meaningful music in a small village CD and coffee shop a few miles outside Budapest. As I ascended a narrow stairway in the village, I heard your Sacred Voice recording. Your voice lead me to the shop where I purchased this CD and Inner Voice. Since returning to the U.S., I’ve enjoyed them both and look forward to hearing the final two discs of the series, Female Voice and Healing Voice, when they become available.

For years, I’ve been interested in the therapeutic and educational potential for various forms of meaningful music. This is music that harmonizes with the natural rhythms of the human body, does not overdrive the body’s receptive systems, reflects major life issues that we all face and is respectful to our humanity. I have a large collection of CDs representing a wide variety of the musical spectrum, including cross-cultural traditional selections, that I have drawn on throughout my clinical career to aid people engaged in therapeutic processes as well as end of life issues. Since the mid-1980s, I’ve been cataloging my collection in ways that I can access this wealth of music for therapeutic purposes. Your two discs are a worthwhile addition to my collection.

With best wishes,

Gene Harvey
